Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) Appeals

Purpose:

The ART replaces the former Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and aims to deliver a review system that is faster, fairer, and more transparent. It deals with a variety of visa cases and migration matters including visa refusals, visa cancellations, sponsorship refusals, and nomination decisions made by the Department of Home Affairs.

As of March 2026, the ART has introduced a major procedural change:  Migration reviews are now decided without in‑person or online hearings. All decisions are made based on written submissions, evidence, and documentation. This makes the quality of your written case more important than ever.

At Global Move Service, we specialise in preparing strong, persuasive, and well‑structured ART review submissions that give your case the best possible chance of success.

What ART Reviews in relation to visa/migration matters?

The ART reviews a wide range of migration decisions, including:

  • Visa refusals
  • Visa cancellations
  • Skilled migration decisions
  • Employer‑sponsored visa refusals
  • Partner and family visa decisions
  • Sponsorship and nomination refusals
  • Character‑related decisions

If you have received a negative decision, the ART provides a crucial second opportunity to correct errors, clarify your circumstances, and present stronger evidence.

How we support you through ART process?

With hearings removed, written submissions now carry 100% of the weight in your review. Our service is designed to meet this new standard.

We provide:

  • A detailed analysis of your refusal or cancellation letter
  • Identification of errors, misunderstandings, or missing evidence
  • A tailored strategy to strengthen your case
  • Preparation of supporting documents, statutory declarations, and expert statements
  • Professionally drafted submissions addressing each issue raised by the Department
  • Ongoing guidance until the ART delivers its decision

Our focus is clarity, accuracy, and persuasive argumentation — essential under the new no‑hearing model.
