To qualify for the NIV, applicants must:

• Demonstrate Exceptional Achievement: Possess an internationally recognized record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, sport, the arts, academia, or research

• Receive an Invitation: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and be invited by the Minister to apply for the visa

• Obtain Nomination: Be nominated by an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen, or Australian organization with a national reputation in the applicant’s area of talent
